Advice for guys when in a 7-minute dating session?

Throw away the canned questions – Where are you from? What do you do? – and just sit down and see where the conversation goes. Speed daters are asked the same set of questions by just about everyone and it gets very old. Also, you don’t want it to feel like a job interview and that you’re pre-qualifying people. Let the conversation happen organically.

Who succeeds at speed-dating?

Whether guy or girl, the people who succeed are the ones who come with an open mind and try to look at it as a fun time and new adventure rather than a pressure-filled experience. Also, people who succeed are often at ease conversing with new people. They are people who can just sit down and talk to anyone about anything.

How much does it cost to attend?

The Current Introductory rate is JMD600 per person. There is a $100 fee for non-registered arrivals at the venue.

Can someone come to your event without registering on your site?

Yes. There is an $100 fee for non-registered arrivals. At the venue simply introduce yourself to our friendly Event Host, Register with her, pay the total fee ($700), and prepare for a great time. Our host will give you a date match card and add you to our roster of singles provided there is space still available.

Do I need to be single to attend your event?

Our policy is that each member be single or not otherwise attached. We do not perform any checks to verify the marital status of any participant. Such checks are the responsibility of the participant seeking such information. Divorced and separated persons who consider themselves single are allowed to register.

What are your privacy policies?

Your registration and attendance is CONFIDENTIAL. Your name, email, address, phone number, etc is only shared with those dates that also had you as a match. We do not sell your information to third parties,  promoters or marketers . We would only provide such information to Law Officials upon legal request or providing a good reason, especially for the safety of our participants.

Will a single woman feel comfortable if she attends an event alone?

Attending a Haystack Speed Dating event is a very comfortable format for single women to attend alone. We encourage women to attend alone, as this is the best way to make new friends, both male and female. When you are busy socializing with your buddy, you don't socialize with as many singles. Once a Speed Dating event begins, you will be so busy you won't even have time to notice you are alone! The choice is yours, come alone or come with a friend but have fun either way.

What happens if I don't receive any matches at a Speed Dating event?

We email everyone with or without matches. Anyone lacking matches for any reason are welcome to attend another of our Speed Dating events at 1/2 the cost. (valid for one repeat event, then regular rate applies)

What information is given to my matches at a SPEED DATING EVENT?

Within 48 hours following a Speed Dating event, we email all participants. We provide the singles that have attended with the the contact information for those they matched with. Matches information includes the first name, contact information (cell numbers,email,BB pin).

How well can you get to know someone in 7 minutes?

It's obvious that 7 minutes is not sufficient time to get to know someone in any great depth, your goal should be to determine whether the person you are meeting is someone that you would like to follow up with and possibly see again. Meeting someone face-to-face has some real advantages over online dating. Sometimes sparks really do fly with instant chemistry! Try concentrating on the questions you ask and the observations you make of each person you meet. This will be the most valuable way to making your assessment.
